- Battle Tactics
- An Anaconda is a ambush predator through and through. It will attack whatever gets close enough to it. If hungry it will try to Swallow Whole the nearest creature first. This lets it take care of it quickly. If there are more creatures around it will divide it's attacks up to keep them off balance. It will use Eyes that Hypnotize as often as possible against multiple enemies to keep them weak and guessing what is coming next.
- Solitary Lives
- Anacondas are solitary creatures and will not normal work with or coordinate with other creatures. However, they can be used by more intelligent creatures as a guard if they created a nice ambush spot so it would want to live there. Or an NPC might guide some PCs into an area it knows one lays in wait and use the ambush to its advantage. Powerful NPCs might even keep them as pets, but this is a risky proposition!
- Grow and Grow
- Anacondas will grow as big as their environment allows them to get. This depends on age, the amount of available food, and the size you want the snake to be when it tries to eat your PCs!
- God of the Swamp
- Anacondas may very well be worshiped by other swamp folk. They may even be fed to keep them appeased. They can definitely be a center piece to any lore that you might have about the area.
- Mistaken for Dragons
- Anaconda are often mistaken for dragons or other creatures such as a basilisk or hydra by those that are not familiar with the differences. Direct observation can help identify them but they are more often than not only glimpsed at night or a hint of them are seen in murky waters.
